About the Journal
Ornitología Colombiana is an open-access journal that publishes articles and brief notes in Spanish and English on neotropical birds that are the products of original, peer-reviewed research. Papers published in OC have dealt with various topics, including ecology, distribution, taxonomy, natural history, conservation, and breeding biology. In addition to Colombia, authors have been from other neotropical countries, North America and Europe. The journal also contains additional sections of comments and reviews of books of interest and thesis abstracts.
Ornitología Colombiana has been published continuously since 2003, with 18 issues and more than 300 manuscripts published. It is currently included in SCOPUS and Publindex (National Indexing System of Colombian Scientific Journals). Its open nature allows manuscripts accepted in Ornitología Colombiana to have broad access to the Internet, receiving numerous visits, downloads and citations.
