Eriocnemis mirabilis is an endemic species with a very restricted distribution, for which reason few records have been made until recent years. In this study we achieved observations and captures that made possible the analysis of floral resources use patterns for this species in the type locality known as “El Planchón”on cerro Charguayaco. Taking into account the distinctive characters of blooming pattern, morphology, color and nectar of flowers, it was found that this species is a generalist, because it does not have particular resource preferences visiting 15 species of plants, with Ericaceae representing the family with the most number of species, followed by Bromeliaceae, Rubiaceae and Melastomataceae. These plants vary their monthly blooming, flower profusion, and nectar volume and concentrations characteristics of the most visited plants, determining some peculiarities in the visits and the use of the plants by E. mirabilis and other hummingbird species.
