Abstract

Para muchas especies de colibríes tropicales, existen limitados registros sobre su biología reproductiva, especialmente sobre el monitoreo de las nidadas. Esto probablemente es influenciado por factores como: la difícil detectabilidad de los nidos, ya que suelen ser construidos en entornos y con materiales que promueven su camuflaje, y la baja tasa de éxito de los polluelos. Aquí reportamos un evento completo de anidación de una hembra androcromática de Florisuga mellivora en el departamento del Quindío, Colombia, desde la puesta de los huevos hasta el emplumamiento de los polluelos y su abandono del nido. Esta nota constituye una contribución significativa al conocimiento de la historia de vida de esta especie.
