Scope and Aims

Ornitología Colombiana (OC) is an open-access journal that publishes articles and short notes on Neotropical birds in Spanish and English, which are the result of original, peer-reviewed research. The works published in OC covers a variety of topics, including ecology, distribution, taxonomy, natural history, conservation, and reproductive biology. In addition to Colombia, authors come from other Neotropical countries, North America, and Europe. The journal also features sections with comments, reviews of books of interest, and thesis abstracts.

Ornitología Colombiana (OC) has been published continuously since 2003, with 29 issues and over 400 published manuscripts to date.  It is currently indexed in SCOPUS and Publindex (National Indexing System for Colombian Scientific Journals). Its open-access nature ensures that manuscripts accepted in Ornitología Colombiana are widely accessible online, receiving numerous visits, downloads, and citations.
